We've Tackled the Fence, the Pantry, and Rip Off Repairmen

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

So here is what we have been tackling:

The fence:

Here is (soon-to-be) DH getting the holes ready for the posts. My brother-in-law was such a great help throughout this entire process. He helped us move, get the fence started, entertained us and so much more! Thanks Big Daddy! My sister is always there. I don't know what I would do without her! Thanks NiNi!

These are the finished holes waiting.

This is the fence posts going in.

The Concrete mixing begins. Even the Pretty Pink Princess and Little DX had to get in on the action. The posts are now cemented into the ground. Now, if it would ever stop raining here then maybe we could finish the job!

The pantry:

I finally got all of my food and stuff at the new house. I love to cook so I must have a well stocked pantry. He only had lots of pre-packaged stuff, cereal and chili. Oh, and Carnation Instant Breakfast! ;o)

The air conditioner (at my house):

Yes, this little problem that should have only cost $7 plus labor to fix, cost me $265. I knew I was getting ripped off. Full story to come!

The Way I See It.... My Moving Adventure

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Yes, this was the view I had for most of the weekend. 4 days of non-stop packing and one day of loading, hauling, and then unloading. It was definitely an adventure I do not want to embark upon again anytime soon! I still have some things left at my house that I need to get: my ebay stock, things I am bringing to my grandmas with me, and things that belong to other people!!

I would never have guessed that I could fill half of a room with things that belonged to other people! Casserole dishes, books, toys, clothes, movies, outside chairs, ice chests, sports equipment... These are things my friends and family either left at my house, in my car, or let me borrow. I now wonder what things of mine I may have left somewhere. I know that I am missing a Pampered Chef pot lid and round serving tray. I am also missing quite a few books and CDs. Ah well, they'll turn up!

Now I must make a trip to Home Depot then go unpack the boxes that await me. I shall return when I have made a dent in the chaos. Until then, enjoy another view of a truck I now have forever etched in my memory.

P.S. No pedestrians or motorists were hurt during the photographing of this truck! ;o)

The Bottom Line - The Presidential Election

With the presidential election just months away, it is time to consider who we will vote for. Let there be no doubt that your vote will make a world of difference, literally. So, whom should you vote for? Or, should the question be "What should you vote for?"

We should not let our decision be based on political parties or distorted media coverage. Does it matter what a candidate did in his early 20's? The truth is, IF those statements were fact; these candidates have had many years to change.

Ponder this: Should we cast our vote for someone who claims to be able to fill our pockets with more money? Should we vote for the person who alleges to be able to create more jobs, or the one who believes that giving more money to failing schools will reform them?

What is wrong when considering these issues when voting?

Nothing.

Nothing unless it is the only reason you are voting for the candidate. We should not vote based on our desire to have more worldly things. God's Word says, "But my God shall supply all my needs according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19. It should not matter what a presidential candidate claims he will do for our economy if he does not stand against murder and anti-Patriotic issues such as: abortion, banning of "The Pledge of Allegiance", support of our military, removal of prayer and the Ten Commandments from public schools and government offices. It doesn't matter if our country is full of prosperous middle class citizens if we have to explain to our children why the kid next door's parents sued the school for passing out bibles or condoms and got away with it or why little Sallie across the street is sick because she had an abortion over the weekend. Then we have the audacity to ask God how He could allow horrific events to take place when we are the ones who asked Him to stay out of our schools, workplace, and government in the first place. In fact, He was thrown out.

When I stand before God and He asks why I voted the way I did I want to be able to say:

.... Because he/she votes against abortion, the morning after pill, and promotes abstinence and not safe sex.
.... Because he/she voted to keep the sacred union of marriage as one man and one woman.
.... Because he/she wasn't afraid to pray or speak Your Word and Your name in front of millions - reaching people I never could.
.... Because he/she raised their hand to declare that they do believe creation and life began just as You stated in Your Word.
.... Because he/she is pursuing the right for creationism to be taught in schools alongside the teaching of evolution.
.... Because he/she voted against assisted suicide.
.... Because he/she voted to keep the right to pray in schools and he/she refused to remove the Ten Commandments from his office.
.... Because receiving a quality academic education as well as a quality spiritual education is important to them.
.... Because he/she would choose to protect America based on reality and not rely on public opinion or polls.

What reasons will you give Him as to why you voted the way you did?

We must begin now by supporting the best candidates. We must pray daily for the future of America. We must comprehend just how important our vote really is. This is our chance to change the world. Are you in?

"Let me very clear about this. We need to vote our values, our beliefs and our convictions. We shouldn't be endorsing candidates. We should be looking for candidates who endorse us..." Richard Land, Southern Baptist Convention

Love Doesn't Require A Name

I pray for you everyday, even though I don’t know who you are.

I ask God to protect you, to hold you, to love you.

I pray that your mom teaches you about God’s Word, how to be a loving mother, and how to cook and clean with ease.

I pray that your father is a loving example of how a man should treat you.

I pray that you don’t have too many trials in life but that those you do have teach you how precious God’s love for us truly is.

I pray for the first time we meet to be a joyous event. I pray that you will accept me as your mother. I will open my arms to you.

I begin to wonder what you look like. What color are your eyes? What color is your hair?
