The way we do this is with index cards that have been corner hole punched to fit on a ring. During lessons I have the boys or myself jot down facts, spelling words, or math problems that we need to learn. These all go into a paint can that I purchased from Home Depot. Then during trips each of the boys takes turns quizzing the others. Whoever gets the answer right gets to put the card on their ring. The one with the most cards on their ring gets to sit in the front for the next trip and also earns other special priveleges.

I'm in need of ideas for drilling or memorizing. This idea sounds great and it is a good incentive.
I really like this idea. We use 3x5s all the time so this would be easy to start. Blessings!
What a fun idea!
What a great idea!
Neat idea! Have to think how to make it work with just one!
Be blessed!
I need to try that. We are always having arguments over who sits where.
Where were you years ago!!?? This idea could have saved the arguing over the front seat in a very diplomatic way! *Ü* both ideas are spot on!
I like it...

19 years of parenting and THAT is the best idea I've heard for dealing with the 'front seat' issue! You, my dear, are a fast learner!
love ya,

What a great idea!

Great idea! Thanks for sharing.
We have a placemat with the United States map on it.
We have played the "state" game while eating. You call out the first letter of the state and everyone gets a guess, once they guess the state we ask them the capitol.
We've had alot of fun playing that.
I'll have to consider the paint can in the car....good idea!
VERY neat idea! wish i had thought of it!!! We aren't homeschoolers anymore, but the drilling still needs to be done!!!
Thanks!

GREAT IDEA!! We are going on a 6 hour road trip this week...I thought we'd be out of schooling on the road...guess again, boys!! They might actually get into this, though!!
Being a military family always on the move (and in the car!), there is always something to learn, whether schooling, the new area we are heading towards, or even current events. This is a great idea, and can even grow with us as the kids grow. Fantastic!!
