Can I tell you that disruptive things are continuously happening to me and my family this week? Study guides, anointing oil, and prayer books suddenly disappear, washer, dryer, and computer breaks abruptly, bad news about my son's eye condition and learning problems, constant interruptions, I nearly choked to death (couldn't breathe at all) two weeks ago, schedules getting messed up, depression in my children, and little "foxes" creeping up into my marriage have all played a role in the last couple of weeks of our lives. One thing is obvious. Satan doesn't like us.
That makes me joyful!
Why? Because obviously we are doing something right. Obviously he is afraid of something that God is about to do in our lives. He wants to try and stop it. It ain't gonna happen, folks.
My God is a BIG God and I will serve Him until my last dying breath.
So, last night when the latest interruption came (blackout in our neighborhood) we took the opportunity to pray throughout the house. We anointed it with olive oil because my anointing oil had just disappeared (uh, huh). We also started speaking God's word throughout the house. This is God's house. His Holy Spirit abides here. Satan isn't welcome. So, after we prayed and read scripture we sat down by candlelight to just enjoy the peace. What Satan means for harm God will always use for good (Romans 8:28).
No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.Luke 8:16
I learned something valuable last night. My house should ALWAYS look just like this to us and to others. The light of Christ burning inside of us should always be completely evident. And as we grow... so will the span of our light. I also learned that a group of candles all in one central location can light up a room. I want my family to be like that.I am requesting prayer on behalf of myself and my family. Things have been a bit uneasy here and I would just like for you to pray that we overcome and are able to dodge the darts being thrown at us. I look forward to an amazing testimony to come from this.
Thank you, Father for revelation and for your divine protection. You are awesome, God!

Amy, this was beautiful. I remember one night in the beginning of HOTM when blogger, photobucket, and Yahoo IM all kept breaking and giving us fits. We realized then what big plans God had for us and we told Satan to scram!
You are such an inspiration and I am blessed beyond belief to call you my friend. I pray for you and Ryan and the boys every day.
Thank you for the voice mail last night. It really made me laugh, what you said to Gevan in the background. I couldn't think of a more prefect time for your electric to go out!
Amy, I'm praying for you and your family!
Blessings,
Trish
Hang in there, Amy. I'm glad you are seeing this for what it really is--Satan's arrows. Way to head them off. I understand why the devil may be threatened by you. You offer realness and a genuine story of healing he probably doesn't want others to hear. You keep on keeping on, babe. My prayers are with you.
Lord, I lift up Amy and her family to you now. I pray for your divine protection over each and everyone in that house.
Place a special hedge around them. Thank you for protecting Amy the other night.
Thank you for using them all for YOUR glory and let their light continue to shine brightly as they worship you in their lives and all they do.
In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Please let me know if you have any other prayer requests, I'm here♥
I always like to see what God has planned for us once we are through the storm! He's IS with you! I believe that when you ASK Him to be in your life...He's there! He'll get you through it.
I'll remember your family in my prayers. God Bless.
Father God, I lift up Amy and her family to you, LORD. Thank you for a hedge of protection around them. Thank you that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Thank you that He that is in them (Jesus Christ) is greater than he that is in the world. Satan, we claim the blood of Jesus Christ over this family- you have NO POWER over them.
I thank you, Lord that the shield of faith is extinguishing every dart of the enemy. Jesus, thank you for the covering of your blood and thank you for the power of your Name- the Name above all names- the Name which every tongue shall confess and in which every knee will bow. Jesus, thank you that we have all power and authority in you. In Jesus' precious name we pray. Amen.
Amy, I will be praying for you. I agree with you that Satan does attack the hardest when God is getting ready to move in the greatest way. I'm sure you've heard Joyce say it a lot- if the devil isn't after you......
Keep me updated!
Blessings,
Tracy
Amy saying prayers here. Funny thing is I'm having one of those weeks too. (ok, not as bad as yours :( ) However, I've shouted "satan get thee out of my house" I can't tell you how many times. I've prayed through the house and I'm standing firm God and His light will win. You are precious girl! thanks!
Amy, I will be praying for you and your family. I do know what it's like to deal with attack after attack. It is wearing on the spirit and the body and I think it's a great idea to ask friends to help you stand in the gap. God will show Himself strong in this fight - just watch and see! (((Hugs)))
AMEN girlfriend.....
"GET BEHIND ME SATAN!" is what the lady who helped me into homeschooling used to say whenever the devil would show himself.....
THAT is so true...
Your faith inspires me, and encourages me...seeing that evil for what it is...afraid of LIGHT!!
amen, amen, amen....
praying beside you....
hugs....big ol' southern ones!!

AMEN sister, now let me have the privilege of praying for one of God's own.
Heavenly precious Father, may You strengthen the resolve of Amy and her precious family, a family after God's own heart. It is obvious that the enemy is busy, but when he is down to no good, You are up to some good! For You are good!! May this family praise in season and out. May they reap the blessings that come with the decision to STAND! Bless them with the wisdom to know what to do during their time of trials, but know that trials bring about perseverance, and that brings about faith and total dependence on You, right where we all need to be. May their light shine even brighter when this season is over, that they may be a bigger testimony and asset to Your Kingdom. I pray this for this family in Jesus' Precious Holy name. AMEN.
Amy, keep doing what you're doing. God is up to something!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing God's revelation to you.
Wonderfully fabulous and encouraging post! I couldn't agree with you more, I don't think we can really imagine the depth of rage, anger and helplessness Satan must feel when we are doing Gods will, when we are fighting the good fight, when we resist him, because he knows he has no choice but to eventually leave us alone.
Troys dad always tells us when things are going nutty, "count it all joy because we know something great is going to come out of it all."
I am praying for you sister and I hope you do the same for me!
We really need to talk, I am just down the street from you, always an open door for you and just a phone call away!
Love ya!

That was fantastic what you posted and will keep you and your family in my prayers...
When things go wrong, I rejoice and give Praise to God because that means I must be doing something right to give the enemy all riled up because that means he knows he is losing!
God bless you and hope things pick up for you!
Hey Amy,
I just found you through Internet Cafe. I said a prayer for you this morning. The last 2 years my struggle has been finances as my husband started his own business. As we begin to find victory in that, God has removed another layer to the onion. (And just when I think I am a sweet smelling Fragrance God reminds me how much I still stink. :) )
I have found this song very encouraging "This is How We Overcome" by Hillsong. It is on their "By Your side" album. You can find it on Itunes. I downloaded it, and everytime I hit a wall, I play that song, and the pressure lifts everytime!
And I prayed for you this morning. Whatever things are going on in your life, that God use them as teachable moments. That good come from what the enemy has planned for evil! God bless.
what a powerful picture of a home bathed in prayer. no weapon forged against it will prevail!
prayers and blessings on you my friend!
Lisa
Such a beautiful post, Amy. I had my own "Satan get out of my house" thing going on last week, too. And I feel so much better now. Keep on keeping on in His name!
I've been behind on my blogging read and just read this today. Thank you for letting us know where you-I will definitely pray for you.
Amy
Grabbing a moment to catch up - pryaing for you and your family. Know that I will continue to do so until you mention the storm has passed.
This is so good! During a desert experience, I often would go through my house, annointing my family with oil while they slept, posting verses I could reflect on...When it became extremely obvious that Satan was doing his best to harm us, I called all my prayer warrior friends to start praying and had a friend come pray over our house and annoint it with oil... YOu have such a way with words and I always love reading your insight.
