My New Toy....

For my birthday, I got the idea that I would ask for a Gevalia coffee maker and coffee so that I could wake up early with my husband every morning (yes, bright and early ya'll) to spend time with him and make his lunch for the day. Yeah, we're talking a major flesh killer here, people. So, I sent him an email with a picture and a link and the note said, "This is what I want for my birthday." Simple right? So what did he do?

... he bought me an espresso machine off of eBay. Yes, that is the truth.

Now I didn't know that until later so every day before my birthday I waited and waited to see if a package was delivered from Gevalia because I was so excited at the thought of receiving it. Alas, my birthday was here and the Gevalia package wasn't. That is when my super sweet husband told me that he had actually bought me an espresso machine because he did some research and in his opinion it was so much better than the Gevalia machine and he got this one at a great price. "Hmmph. But I wanted a Gevalia machine," I thought to myself. It didn't matter though because the eBay guy messed him over. Yes, he took our money and did not deliver the "oh so wonderful" espresso machine. Yes, believe it. You can't make this stuff up.

We shared this story with an awesome couple from our bible study group and they were obviously more moved than I was by the story of my willingness to get up early with my husband each morning so they gave us their old coffee pot. They also suggested we pray for each other every morning to start off the day. Can I tell you that it makes a HUGE difference. You should try it!

After much wrangling with filing claims and such on PayPal, my husband finally got the money back. Then he asked me, "Okay, so then what do you want?"

*this is me laughing*

"An ice cream machine, honey." I said. Just do some research and find me a good ice cream machine. Did I mention that I am a small appliance junkie?

So here it is folks...

Look at all that yummy goodness being whipped up. Mmmm...

It isn't a Gevalia coffee maker but I can make my own ice cream flavors. It costs less and I can make it - O.R.G.A.N.I.C.!

And yes, I had the "talk" with my awesome man of God. I told him that from now on when I say I want a four slice toaster from T Fal and send him a picture of it, with a link, that means I don't care how much of a deal he can get on the Oster stainless steel one. I still want the T Fal!

He gets it now (I hope)! I love that man!

I love it! Our first few years of marriage, my husband used to get me things that he would want (like an expensive new mountain bike)! In hindsight, that's probably because I'm one of those boring practical people who never want anything. It used to be kind of irritating, but I think it's hilarious now.

I love reading your blog!

Too funny! Don't know if you are aware of this or not, but you can get a Gevalia coffee pot and some coffee for less than $20. That's how we got started with them. It's a promo they do for first timers. You should check it out. I LOVEEEEEE their coffee, especially the Pecan Torte. Yummo!!!!

Blessings,
Jenifer

What a cute story. They all need a little coaching sometimes, but their hearts are in the right place.
This was a really fun post to read.

And the ice cream looks yummy!

Hugs,
Julie

Ha! Jenifer... the funny thing is I sent him that very offer but he thought the price meant it was "cheap" so he didn't buy it! I had Gevalia back when the offered the carafe coffee maker and I used that thing until it fell apart. I would love a new one! :o)
